The Defence School Mentor Program (DSMP) is funded by the Department of Defence to support the children of Australian Defence Force (ADF) members. It helps students transition between schools, manage deployments, and adjust to the unique military lifestyle through dedicated on-campus support.

Core Focus Areas of the DSMP:

  • Transitions & Integration: Welcoming new Defence students and assisting them with settling into a new school environment.
  • Parental Absence Support: Providing targeted emotional support during extended periods when a parent is deployed or away for exercises.
  • Social & Emotional Wellbeing: Offering individual mentoring, peer support programs, and a safe space to build resilience.
  • Farewelling: Helping students prepare for posting to a new location
